BIO

Kasaundra "Kas Poetess” Hamilton is a Texas Native. A happily married mother of three, Kas, vowed to make sure they knew their voices would always matter and applied that very belief unto herself through her poetry. Kas began writing as a child using her words as therapy.  Then she began performing in 2010. She now uses her voice to shed light on social issues she has dealt with personally and those she wants to bring more attention to like grief, domestic violence, child abuse, LGBTQ and women's rights. She leads writing workshops, public speaking engagements and peer group support groups. Kas has grown into a woman who knows the value of her voice and wants to help others find the beauty in their own.

Kas believes her poetry is more than just entertainment. What she offers is what she likes to call Poetic Therapy. “I want to connect & entertain people, but mainly I want to use my words to help people get  out of their comfort zones and spark the conversations that are needed to heal. There’s something in my words powerful enough to save a life.”
